Cherub Chatter December 2011 – January 2012 __________________________________________ ~ Sunday December 11th will be Little Cherubs Christmas program. This will start at 5pm, and teachers are requesting children to arrive at least 15 minutes ahead of time. ALL little cherubs participate in this program. Mr. Frank Hughes from St. Johns UCC will be joining us to give the prayer, along with our tradition of telling the Christmas story. ~ Class Christmas parties are scheduled for the 21st for the Pre-k and 4’s classes, and the 22nd for the 3’s class. Each child can bring a wrapped book for their gift exchange. The book doesn’t need to exceed $5.00. ~ There is NO school on Friday the 23rd, but our Stay & Play will be open. ~ Our Stay & Play will be CLOSED from Dec.26th - Jan 6th. Sorry if this is an inconvenience for anyone, we only had two parents imply that they needed childcare over the break. This isn’t enough for us to stay open. ~ Our bowling field trip for the 4’s and Pre-K is set for Jan. 13th More information will be sent home. _______________________________________________ Note from Little Cherubs Director: On Wed. Nov. 30th I met with Mark Waltz (GCC Elkhart Pastor). My request for this meeting was to have a clear understanding of our future for Little Cherubs and the return of our space to the upper level. To my surprise, I was handed a memorandum that GCC had prepared. I have attached a copy of this so each parent can read and try to understand. Little Cherubs after May 2012 will no longer use this church for preschool space. Little Cherubs is now looking for a new home!! You will read in the GCC memorandum that they will allow us space for our extra events, such as, our Christmas Program, music and movement, indoor play space for exercise, etc.Our office and class rooms will remain on the lower level until our last day in May 2012. As Director, I cannot express enough how this came as a shock to the teachers and myself. I am lost for words when trying to explain the actions or decision of GCC. Speaking for all teachers of Little Cherubs, we promise this… We will continue to devote our time and energy to each little cherub! We will continue to teach then Christian values, and prepare them for their future in life and academics. We also want to thank ALL parents & grandparents for their support this semester, its always amazing to see the support for our school and children each year!! Little Cherubs will be reaching out to the community in many ways. We are asking for prayer, ideas, and support. Join us on “Facebook” at Little Cherubs Preschool Michelle Rhoads |
